Boost issues!

Okay decided to come on here rather than NASIOC cause most of the guys are idiots and jerks. Quick mod list and here we go.

2002 WRX 96k miles
Perrin Turbo inlet
Perrin intercooler hoses,
Tanabe Hyper Medalion CBE.
Perrin short ram intake

The problem has occur WAY after the install of those parts.

The issue is I'm only boosting about half way .05MPa on my stock boost gauge where normally full boost is .1MPa. I know the gauge works correctly cause it doesnt pick up and go like it used to when it would full boost.

Okay so theres NO codes in the computer, no symptoms other than i feel its running a little too rich. I am a mechanic so I've done "some" test(when u work on cars all day you get tired and never wanna deal with yours odd huh?) I did a quick "Clear all emission related data" once i had did that with a scan tool(snap on red brick). Gave it a quick drive and I would reach full boost. The first time I did this it worked for like a month and then it stopped. I drove a week like this driving like a granny did the same thing and banged on the BCS with my flashlight and it worked for a day and stopped. Tried it again checked resistance of the BCS and I got 33.2OHMS which to me felt HIGH and where a coil should be no more than 1-2 ohms. NOT sure if thats a correct spec cause on Alldata theres no testing procedures. I had checked my MAF sensor to see if it was dirty(live out in the country) it was dirty so I cleaned that, banged on my BCS again. STILL only getting half boost and no increase in it.

FOR ALL THE GURUS and techs that work on Subarus daily. Would my BCS be defective and I would need to buy a new one. I dont want to buy one from the dealer cause it costs $135 and I want to make sure that this is my problem.

For the subaru techs on this forum is there a way you can give me a test procedure or adivce on this problem. I work on chevy and fords and some imports at the shop I work at. Subarus are rare in Hanford.

Thanks in advance!

Have you done a leak down test? That would tell you if you had a vacuum leak. Check all hoses and vacuum lines. If you can, just swap someone BCS' and see if that is the issue. Cheap and easy thing to do rather than paying for a brand new one. Are you tuned or OTS map installed?

Ya ive checker for vacuum leaks no signs of that (thank god). As wrxisthebest said way to many ohms. Which I had figured as much it is a solenoid and that should be no more than 1 ohm in my book. Well Ill find one off ebay or something I'll hit u up Jerry and we'll see what happens! Thanks guys!

Tons of companies do online tuning also. 555 motorsports and AWDtuning are a couple of shops that have a lot of experience with our solenoid.

All you do is send them your logs and they email a tune back to you. Its fairly easy and cheaper then dyno tuning.

Either way between EQtuning and DBtuning I'd be looking at a day trip and most likely having to take a day off work. 3+ hour drives for me! I do appreciate all of the responses! Thanks again!
