Well manufacturers always hype up there numbers anyways. It's better to rely upon track tested data, which also varies a lot depending on the driver and location. But once you turbocharge those things, they could be purty quick.
I'd get an STi over an R32 any day, or something a bit cheaper like an EVO.

I was referring to the 0-60 time for the WRX. Subaru claims 5.4 for the WRX and Volkswagen claims 6.4 secs. I would definitley rather an STi over the Volkswagen any day.
