double clutching is when you depress clutch, shift into neutral, let go of clutch, blip throttle, depress clutch again, and then downshift into intended gear. Notice how the clutch was depressed twice in one downshift.
I thought you only had to double clutch on dogbox trans because of their lack of syncros.

you dont HAVE to double clutch on trannys w/ syncros, but you must on dog boxes. the reason ppl w/ syncro trannys double clutch is so the syncros dont have to bring the engine up to speed while downshifting...its to save the life of the syncros basically

Hmm, here is my list:
1. Break dust...oh god, lots of it.
2. WIndshield, cracked at 130 miles.
3. Interior noise, tires are far too noisy. Small rattles here and there.
4. Tall 5th gear.
5. Too fast. I don't notice when I'm doing 100 in a 35mph zone
6. Wing/Scoop too big. I personally don't like them, but thats just me. I prefere the ppp inverted scoop and a smaller wing.
7. Ahh yes, garbage water based paint that chips by mearly looking at it. This is a problem with the industry and its not something that is unique to the STI. Damn US standards are to blame there.
8. ..... ..... ..... o well, I'm done.
I get good gas milage with this car...hell its better than my old WRX or my old 99 GT. I can get about 320 miles on 1 tank normal driving. If I push it then it drops significantly. All it all its good having a 6th gear for highway cruising...yes it is very good.

Glad to see that experienced stickers know how to up/down shift with rev-matching that some of us old f---s learned at our pappy's knees in the days of no synchros. I remember well when a Chevvy in-line 6 came with a synchro for 2-3! (About '45/6/7 or so). Yes, Virginia, there is a real pleasure from getting down the gears from 115 or so with never a jerk, just putting all the stuff in the back of the car into the foot well where you can then sort it out.

I don't know how you people can complain about this car. I love my new STi soooo much. I just want to drive all day every day, too bad for work and it constantly snowing here ( I have to woryy about other drivers not my car in the snow). This car is so awesome, and it only costs $30,000, break dust has to be cleaned on all cars, and so far I have been able to wipe it right off with a rag and nothing else. I actually enjoy taking extra care of my car. This car is too good to complain about.
