Talking stupid random question about EVO MR

I know it's kinda stupid, but I've never search and try to figure this out yet....

What do those spikes lined up at the end of the MR's roof do?

and

How do you think they look on the EVO?

According to the Ralliart EVO MR brochure, this vortex generator was wind tunnel tested at 180km/h.

Vortex Generator Test results (on 180km/h):

Rear downforce: + 2kg = 35% UP
Air Resistance (CD) : 1.1% OFF

Thanks guys!

So they are solely for aerodynamics purposes?

I am just curious because I don’t think I’ve seen those before.

Is that a new design? Or have those fins been around in the auto industry for a while already?

I had one on my evo before the MR was even introduced in U.S.. now you can get them at the mitsu dealership for about $200 IIRC.
