I'd say the only argument FOR it is more EJ20's around later in wrekcing yards for swaps and build-ups.
Other then that I am sorry I laughed when SCC rumored this whole SAABARU thing, I thought it was a joke...

I do like that new Saab commercial though, who can argue with that statement that says something like 'in our world all cars are turbocharged'.... Sounds fine to me
I just wish GM would let them use their own and not ours.

I'm might be persuaded to buy one... I own an '02 WRX Wagon with this being my 4th Subaru. I'm loyal to the Suby name but if SAAB/GM can price the car right compared to a WRX (I don't believe they can or will do such a thing) I might buy one. They would have to be listed at $25,000... or less.
My questions are what kind of suspension, wheels and other performance parts will it have? Is it going to be a virtually complete WRX with just a different body and interior? Or are they only using the 2.0 turbo engine from the WRX?

I'll show up at the SAAB dealer to test-drive one. I'll make my final judgement then... I'll be use to my modded up Suby so my perception will be tainted.
The more I think about it - this sound like a great car for my wife. She has an outback wagon now and loves it - but envies the power of my WRX.
I bet they sell a lot of them in automatics to people who don't want to be considered dorks for driving an automatic WRX but drive in traffic alot.

Just as DoomE.Q. said, more pickings from the bone yards for us. Hell, maybe we'll get a little more new performance parts development. The larger the customer base, the more incentive for companies to develop more go fast parts.
On a similar subject, I think it's funny that GM also decided to use Honda's V6 for their Saturn cars.
