According to Automobile magazine, this Saabaru deal took place directly between GM and Fuji Heavy Industries, and Subaru is "mad as hell" about sharing it's products. It's hard to blame them.
BTW, will the Saab 9-2 owners be accepted and respected by "real" WRX owners? Will this even be an issue?

Well, they dont own a wrx so they arent wrx owners. I personally have a distaste for Saabs. I dont really care that they are putting a car out that will be "similar" to the wrx. Its just a shame that Subarus gotta share their product. Apparently most Saab enthusiastis are already up in arms because since Gm has taken control of the company theyve butchered it. Meaning theyve taken all the Saab quirkiness that it represented and made it american. Oh well, screw Saabs anyways.

Why do Subaru owners care if Saab rebadges the WRX? If it increases sales, demand and production for the WRX, that makes the Subaru team more valuable to FHI, they'll get more development funding, etc - which is good for Subaru fans!
IMO, the competetive edge lacking in the WRX is interior refinement - I think a Saab 9-2 aero with WRX guts and less spartan features will attrach a different demographic and be good for the Subaru.
Where's your loyalty, they badge or the car?

I may very well buy one. I have a 02 WRX wagon. I'd like to get an new sedan but prefered the bug eye look. Saab will give me another option.

A friend of mine back when I was in High School some 10 years back had a Saab (?900 series) - thing was ALWAYS in the shop for one reason or another. Another friend has a few old skool Saabs and swears by them... I hope GM has improved their reliability, but as far as I'm concerned, I'll never buy one.

My parents have always had Saabs and I've been nothing but happy with them. Not that I've had the WRX for a few months and gotten into my dad's 9-3, there's really no comparison, but I'd be interested in seeing what Saab can come up with here...
I'm not surprised Saab enthusiasts are pissed at GM for slaughtering their cars - Sabb of today is nothing like it was before the GM takeover.

Hey guys!!!!!! I'm doing an editorial for English on this topic. I'd be happy to share what I have, as well as other locations that I've found articles. What I want though, is for you guys to give me some more of your pros and cons to give me more ideas, since I'm running out of them. I'm writing against it, and anyone who feels the same, please speak up!!!! Also, if you are for it, speak up. My editorial needs to pose an argument, so your opinions are just as important.
