...and the cost for the HPA upgrade is about $25K (European Car mag).

I could almost buy two STIs for the price of the R32 and upgrade!

I am on a list for an R32 and I'm not gonna buy one. VW's are over priced and definately over marked up when they come out. That anniversary rabbit was marked up $7k when it came out.....it's rediculous. Mostly I just want to test drive one because I do like the cars.....

but in reality the R32 is just a fattened up and overweight Audi A3

i think the vw's are nice cars, except they are overpriced. when the rabbit first came out, like onemanarmy said, the markup was just crazy. 5-7k easily on a car that has a msrp of like 23000?

VW's are junk, rated one of the worst manufacturers in reliability. fact is, they break and break often. ask any VW tech and they will tell you...transmissions, window regulators, brakes, the list of petty malfunctions goes on.

the R32 you were talking about is Bi-turbo, not twin turbo. they had a stock R32 at the LA auto show last year, very nice looking, AWD, bigger VR6, and cool racing seats...but like I said, its a VW. The rep at the show said $35,000 (without dealer markup) can you say "never likely to see the US"?
