New R32 Promo Video
Heres a clip of the new Volkswagen R32 due out soon in 2003. Clearly it doesn't match the Subaru line, but it does bring welcome street competion (4wd) as well as killer looks.

Dammit I thought they were gonna re-release the R32 Skyline, my favorite generation of GT-R. I woulda given up an arm, a leg, a kidney, and a lung for a brand new one
Where'd those marketing geniuses at VW get that name anyway? It's confusing as hell

Awesome Camera Techniques!
The camera angles, zoom, pan, etc and most of all the editing in that short film are incredible. The way that shots merge together and scenes are combined is really cool. Scenes like that can make almost any car desirable. I'd like to see a promo video like that for an R34 Nur (I'm with you Choku Dori on the Skyline thing).

I suppose giving the link would have been easier
Just to clarify (as stated before), what was said is correct about R being the racing line and 32 being the displacement:
Volkswagen Press Statement: "The '32' refers to the engine size - a 3.2-litre V6 putting 240 brake horsepower"

Skyline?
about that skyline post, i'm just curious on why they would ever release the R32 Skyline now, seeing as how they have an R34 in Japan which is already 2 models upgraded? I myself love the new look of the R34 GT-R because even though it is a new car, it still has that aggressive look to it that the EVo and old Subaru's used to have (the abrupt nose with aggressive headlight configurations). This style is still evident somewhat in the new WRX too, as opposed to the new style of sleek, femme-like curves (ie- Acura RSX, Civic, etc.)

Re: Skyline
They wouldn't release a 15+ year old R32 Skyline, or a new R34 for that matter. The R34s been discontinued as of last summer anyway. I think that we were just saying that it would be cool if something like that was released in the states. However there's speculation that the next generation Skyline (simply labeled GT-R. The 'Skyline' is currently the Japanese version of the G35 sedan here in the states) will be brought to the US as an Infiniti model.
I think the Skyline GT-R VSpec II R34 is the absolute meanest looking car on the road.

about the R32. i have always liked the golf/gti style, and i really like the r32. the 337 is one of my favs. i don't think i would make this my only car, but if i had some money to play with i would own a GTI, 337, and R32 just as kind of the progession went along. i think its a very good thing to see some more AWD vehicles coming into the us market. subaru still has tha market cornered, but its cool to see more around. i would love to drive the r32. and yeah, the exhaust note is very impressive.
