Hmmm...maybe if Mitsu dealers would budge from the $45K asking price for an Evo MR, they'd sell more of 'em!?

I don't know about that, when I told my friends that their MY97-99 Mitsubishi Esclipes RS, GS were Neons. They got pissed!!! Seriously pissed since it has a Neon engine in it and they didn't know about it til I told them.

And is sharing the same chasis with the next neon supposed to be a good thing?
All the info is personal opinion/technical info...but i worked for a Mitsu dealership last summer swapping cars, so ive spent plenty of time in all of there new models.

The Galant GT-S/LX V6 are very nice cars, drive very well, have great interiors, HID's (GT-S), and do 0-60 in 6.77sec (Accord Sedan/Camry cant touch that).

Lancer Ralliart = 162hp/162lb-ft
Civic Si = 160hp/132lb-ft

and i didnt mean that sharing the same chassis was good for the cars, but it shows future development in a market that sellls very well and so Mitsu isnt going out of business any time soon.

I'm sure your friends were pissed, the only DSM Eclipse w/ Mitsu engines were the GS-T and GSX. the RS/GS had DCX engines.

"I paid $20K(?) for this Mitsubishi and all I got was the Neon engine."

From what I have heard from dealers in the area that Mitsu will do anything to stay afloat. They are trying just to keep producing cars and hoping to keep a complete chapter 11 over everything as far as possible from them, it just is enevitable for them, so it seems unless something happens that changes everything around.

Rush

P.S. has anyone seen the EVO X (ten) drawings from car and driver, it is easier on the eyes than the 8 to me.

How about this:

I was calling around trying to find out about the year end sales event at my local mitsu dealer. After way too many rings, a woman picked up and informed me that the owner had decided to close down the dealership. It's only been open for 8 or 9 months. Undetered, I called Modesto Mitsu and got no answer. Then I tried Fremont Mitsu. No answer.

WTF!

What about Concord? They were generally the best Bay Area Mitsu dealer anyway.
