For anyone that has gotten their wisdom tooth taken out, how much does it cost to pull two tooth out. I also need to pull out my 2 bottom tooth and i got a qoute from this one place that it will cost me $200 to take out both of them and thats with my insurance that is paying 80% of the cost. So w/out insurance $180 per tooth= $360 for 2=$720 for all 4 .
i haven't looked around much, so is there any place here that does it cheaper. I'll get them pulled out if that's the average price.
Thanks

damn, man. my gf just had all four of hers yanked by an oral surgeon and she only paid like $430 I think. She works with the CDA so I'll ask her if she can give me a good idea of a place near you.
What part of the bay area are you in?

Ok. My gf works at an insurance company for dentists so they know who the good dentists are. I've got her looking for a referral on a good oral surgeon in the milpitas area.
Just so you know, it's unlikely that any dentist or oral surgeon will allow you to drive yourself home following the procedure, so you'll need a ride. Also, even though I had an ok experience with having my dentist pull them, he had a hard time and I was in the chair AWAKE for four hours. My gf had hers pulled by an oral surgeon (just a few weeks ago too), they knocked her out and she was done in 45 minutes.
Much better way to go. I'll post in here or PM you when she gets me some details. Probably tomorrow at the earliest.

there's a dentist in milpitas (Minkin) that does decent work for cheap...he'll work with you & your insurance company. you might want to look him up.
i went to a specialist at the Stanford Medical Group...it costed a little over $2k, but my insurance covered it!
goodluck! oh, also hope you like jamba juice

I agree with Strng1dah. You don't want to just get a cheap guy to do it. Make sure it is an oral surgean who does it, also. Just in case there are any complications and you have to go back to the insurance and have them fixed by someone else. If you don't have it done by an oral surgean, your insurance may say that since you didn't have the right person do it, they won't pay for it. Your insurance may be better then the one I had at the time. I wasn't knocked out for mine and I had to have all four taken out. I didn't get any pain killers afterwards either...bastard.

I'm still waiting on a reccomendation. Like I said, my gf works for the insurance company, which represents dentists. They'll know the good from the bad

Hows the Northern California Facial and Oral Surgery in San Leandro? I'm going there tomorrow for X-rays, then within the next month having my teeth taken out. Can I request to be knocked out? I DONT want to be awake for this. Has anyone had theirs out with only the laughing gas? Supposedly I wont remember it, but I'm concerned that I will.
I just let my oral surgeon know that I was really freaked out about the whole thing and that I was terrified of needles. So he gave me two valium to take before the surgery, one the night before so I would sleep and one the morning of the surgery, then he knocked me out.
I do not remember going home, but I guess I was really trashed because I started to call people. Scotty had to go back to work and a roomie was suppose to be watching me and he wasn’t. On eof the people I called was my dad (who is an attorney for the surgeon) and my dad called the surgeon, cause he was worried, who laughed and said yeah I gave her valium, someone should take the phone away from her.
I agree that you need to have a oral surgery do it. You have to sign a wavier that you understand you can lose all feeling in your lower face because there is a chance nerves will be damage in the removal of wisdom teeth. So yeah, better to have a surgeon do it, who does it everyday to lower that risk of the doc F 'in up and you losing feeling.

It cost me $2600 about 12 years ago, but that was with no insurance and the molars hadn't broken through the gums yet - they had to be cut out. It sucked. A lot. Seriously.
