Exactly why my friend got a VW, cheap affordable luxury. You get a lot of luxury for the buck, but with only ok performance.

Guess that leaves them 47HP shy v. a WRX or 120HP shy of an STi. A golf, luxury, yea right!

i would buy the r32 over the sti or the evo. Out of the box speed isnt everything. Also, ive seen 950 horsepower mk5s, and seen specifically a 650 horsepower r32

Yep. And my dad has a 2003 A4 1.8T, it actually only has 170 horsepower, not 180.

yea VW GTI's are nice and luxurious with a lillt sporty side to it but basically it cant hang in the same level as the impreza's, dont even compare. R32 is slow and expensive for its price just like the other europeans cars. i would take a dodge srt4 with FWD over the AWD GTI hatchtank. by the way did you guys know that the GTI weighs a lot just like other euros, except for the porche. the impreza basically way the same as the porches. thats why they are krazy like porches.

R32 is a failure in my opinion, they havent learned yet, they need to make a fast car first of all. and make sure they make it so it weighs around 3000lbs or less. its got awd, thats good, but wats it good for its still running 15's high 14's with all that weight goodies plus making it costs $30,000, thats the STi and EVO price level basically but definitely does not meet the performance level, its not even turbocharged. for $30,000, id buy an STi or WRX and use the rest of the money for simple bolt ons for the stock turbo, my baby will be owning every car on the street. stock WRX with $3000 worth of mods will ownnnnnn. r32, dont try racing imprezas, stick to grocery getting and senior carpooling, hahahahahahaha. jk dont mean to be so mean, jusst love it wen companies try to compete and come out with better cars but screw up big time.

and how much did that cost? I would bet great sums of money that it'd be cheaper to build an Evo or STI to that power than the R32, in my opinion as much as I like VW, they failed. They needed to make a car that was competitive with the other AWD sporty cars.
