Anyone ever get a buy back letter from the dealer?????

Rather interested in why they would send me a buy back letter.....

I bought the 02 WRX wagon in Jan 05 from a Mitsubishi dealer, but have taken it to the local Subaru Dealer in Seaside, CA (Cypress Coast) The car was originally in Cypress Coast's inventory, but they traded it to the Cardinale dealer (the WRX was fully modded at the time)

They had the car about 2 weeks ago for a CEL.....(miss fire on no.3) now I get a buy back letter????

Any ideas why they would send me this?

There is no way I am parting with this car.
VF-34 and all the supporting mods, 4 pot brakes....etc and no stockers....will lose all the goodness + incur the negative equity on the loan in whatever I ended up getting to replace it???

Here's the letter:

"Attention: IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR 2002 SUBARU

Cypress Coast Subaru DID NOT meet their goal on specific pre-owned Subarus, therefore, the dealer has authorized the sales staff to conduct this special event!

In order to fulfill high demand of vehicle requests, it is the intent of the pre-owned specialists at Cypress Coast Subaru to obtain several pre-owned vehicles by March 26, 2006. It has come to our attention that you presently own one of the aforementioned vehicles and may wnat to participate in this trade-in program.

this is your opportunity to seek a higher trade-in value for your 2002 SUBARU IMPREZA. With factory incentives and dealer discounts, it may even be possible to exchange your vehicle for any new Subaru with little or no out of pocket expense and with a monthly payment that fits your budget. (on approved credit, any negative equity will be applied to new loan balance.)

Please present this letter to a sales consultant at Cypress Coast Subaru for your participation in this event.

A visual inspection of your vehicle will be required to assess its value. Feel free to drop in or call us at: (give #) to sechedule a convenient appointment for the opportunity to make you an offer."

No mystery. They want to sell you a car. I call up cars off classifieds offering up a price if they are Subarus and then offer to put them into a new one... It does work and you can find good inventory out there for the 'pre-owned' lot!
