Modified cars... legally? Letter writing campaign?

In another thread Joe Longworth gave me an idea...

Why don't we start a letter writing campaign to our State Assemblypersons?

Now I know crap about the current laws that screw us over nor do I know what to write... but I do know what I want and I do know many folks on different boards. (And some of them are chicks... and we all know that chicks get LOTS of attention on car boards, RIGHT AYA?! ). So in a nutshell, maybe we could start a fire that will take off to the result of thousands if not 10s of thousands of letters going to various Assemblypersons.

I'd need help in: -

- writing a form letter that could be distributed... so that's content

- help advertising to various boads and clubs

- getting your long lost family to sign and send a copy in.

- any other wisdom you have.

I'm not looking to make this into some huge complicated effort. It doesn't seem like it needs to be. But I am willing to coordinate.

Who's interested and who can help?

sounds like a good idea, but i can only come up with one reason not to:

if gray davis has all of our addresses, and knows we own a modified vehicle, whats to stop him from sending people to our houses to inspect our vehicle. this state and its politics are just so screwed up that they might try to pull something like that.

just a stupid random thought.

Thumbs up

Outstanding thinking. I have been thinking about something like this for a long long time.

We should concentrate on the Conservative/Libertarian side of the house. Changing a Lib's mind on this kind of stuff is a lost cause.

I am in total support of such a campaign! If somebody wants to draw it up, I will promote in every way that I know possible.

Sure is...

Not that people don't care, people probably would think that the government doesn't care about what they have to say...

i'm in as well. this is going to take some work, however.

some one is gonna have to take a long look at the CVC and find out exactly what we want to lobby for. then someone's gonna have to write an intelligent letter that people aren't afraid to put their name on. it'll be easy going from there on out, but those first couple things will require some man hours, that's for sure.

I would support this kind of effort. I'm just too lazy and busy to make room for the spearheading kind of origination this requires.

Yeah, but you're a mod. Aren't you supposed to have supernatural powers or something?

Didn't you know, while we're going about trying to dissolve C.A.R.B, BAN SUVS is getting a ban on SUVs

No, you're confusing me with the Greenie Weinies. I just hate SUVs, but CARB is devil spawn in suits. They're not even good environmentalists.
