2005 Evolution MR?
The dissapointing part of the MR is you don't get a big HP gains, so you're basically paying for the ACD. I don't know what the final HP rating is but I don't think it will be 300HP. The torque should be better though. And yes the evo is faster than the STI in most categories. except maybe 0-60, but since you can reach 60 in second on the evo, you save 0.5 seconds on shift time.

I read on evolutionm.net that all 05 EVOs (RS, GSR, and MR) will have front LSD and ACD and 276hp. The MR will have the 6MT, aluminum roof, Bilstein shocks, and BBS wheels. However it will not have the black interior, cf wing, blackhousing taillamps/headlamps that the japanese and euro models have.
I DROVE AN MR! my friends dad works for mitsu and he was bringing the car to willow springs the next day. that night he let me drive it. awesome handleing, dosent even screech where my car would understeer into the rails

The STi does not have a faster 0-60 due to the extra shift required to get there... you need to be in 3rd to do so. From what I've heard the MR will basically be stripped, contain a larger turbo, and have the allmighty AYC. I believe that's why Mitsu is bringing it over, is to introduce the Active YAW Control that will make the STi stand in shame on handling.
Though, with Mitsubishi's terrible economic problems and how they kill your warranty as soon as possible, and that they're shutting down more manufacturing plants to reduce the car output number to 6 different models (i think that was the number). I'd stick with the STi because I've always been a scooby fan, and that you have a much stronger foundation and dependability on the company.
Edit: I hope this makes subaru think about sending over the Spec-C STi (I remember an earlier post about it having a yaw computer that almost matches mitsubishi's AYC?)

Our STi is already pretty close to a Spec C. Also our 05 already has front helical LSD and DCCD with yaw sensor just like JDM. I believe 05 EVOs will have ACD but not AYC. USDM STi is in many sense is equal if not than JDM. USDM EVO however still won't be same as JDM in 05.
