I remember when I first saw that new commercial, the first few seconds of it (when they only show the front end of the 'Vette), my reaction was "Holy crap! Mitsubishi is finally bringing over the FTO!!!". Alas no, but still, it's hella badass nonetheless. One of the few examples of a domestic automaker doing something frighteningly right again and again...
I think from what I've read that the new vette is slightly smaller than the last gen because Chevy wants to sell more in Europe so it fits more of the euro standards. I can't wait to see what kind of numbers this car posts. With 400 horse chevy is promising performance that will approach that of the C5 Z06. And when the C6 Z06 debuts it should be in the neighborhood of 500hp so it can run with the new Viper. SMOKIN!!!
looks like GM took a ferrari and photochopped it with a viper...they'll never learn. I mean it looks pretty cool, but nothing too striking about it. GM should start to look into company's like Nissan for striking original concepts. I cant even belive they produced that fugly SSR. It always makes me dissapointed at the auto show when you see GM and Ford with the same old B.S. every year, yet Nissan, Honda, Toyota and Mazda keep pioneering the "visual" design aspect of the industry.
I'm sure this thing will scream, and I'm sure it will sell quite a few but big V8's in sports cars dont impress me anymore. what I would like chevy to do is bring back the turbo V6 AWD platforms and make some screamin canyon carvers that dont get 12 MPG and dont cost upwards of $50,000.

I will agree that the new vette has some cues such as the headlights that look ferrari. But it is also to important to realize that most of the Styling cues are pure vette. Also if you say the vette looks like the viper due to the cuts down the doors it is the other way around because the viper copied them off of the C5 vette.
And awns a few years back Lingenfelter Performance did a twin turbo C5 that put out 750hp if i remember correctly. They bumped the gearing way up for testing so it would only do 0-60 in the low 4 second range but it would hit 223 mph. Drop the gearing and throw slicks on and that bad boy would rip. The new vette will provide another great platform to build a monster off of.
