Oil filters are getting smaller and smaller - 15208AA100 an Impreza filter?

Can anyone confirm that? I ran out of filters (used to buy them 10 at a time) so I ordered more and they are teeny. Is this right??

15208AA100

Thanks!

Yeah, I think it's the right one, the dealership justt gave me that one the other day. I think they were having heat issues with the larger ones, being so close to the manifold and all.

I have been using WIX filters after my 60K of free oil changes. seem to do just fine even with some hard auto-x and mountain drives.

you should just buy an oil filter from a honda, they work on subarus and they are slightly cheaper

they normal honda ones are big, if you get one from a newer honda it will be small

just make sure u ask for the one that goes on the odyssey, accords, older civics, pilots, etc...

The small honda one works also...but its just as small as the newer impreza ones

Napa filters are made by WIX. Before I bought my case of Subie filters, I was using these. They are a very high quality filter. After cutting one open it revealed good materials, and a ton of filter media. I did use the Honda ones as well. They aare larger in dia. and worked great.

Just wait until Pep Boys has a sale on the purolators. On sale, they're either free after rebate or 99 cents. I think it's the same brand that Subaru uses anyway, or atleast used to use.

^+1 Purolator Makes a kick *** filter as well. This is true that OEM is manufactured by Purolator to OEM specs. It is not necessarily the same filter.

Oh, those were also called the 15208AA09A filters, which we had to recall because of their tendency to leak. I guess if you want 99 cent filters, you'll be getting all the ones we sent back.

Good luck!!

Been using them ever since I bought my car used. So... over 30k miles and I've never had a leak. Maybe I was lucky or Subaru just fuxed up on those
