There is rear LSD only on MY00-01 Impreza 2.5RS. Wheels also changed from MY00-01 too.

 

Some 98-99's have 2 air filters. Fender filter and the one above the throttle body.

 

98's seat/door card fabrics are different than 99?/00/01
99-01's came with clear headlamps
99-01's came with white-faced gauges
99-01's came with leather shift boot
99's and 00/01's had different exhaust tips.
01's came with the optional CD player

98 Gold 5 spoke wheels
99 Silver 5 spokes wheels
00/01 Silver 6 spokes wheels

Was Cruise Control, red-stitched steering wheel and shift **** standard on 98s?

If I remember right the 98 DOHC made 165hp and 165 lb/ft of torque and 99-01 SOHC made 165 hp and 166lb/ft of torque.

Not sure about the '01 2-door thing since I snatched up one of the very last new coupes in Western Canada in Feb/01, right before the WRX came out.

 

No cruise standard up 'til MY00. Leather was in the Pre MY00's though.

 

Small foglights is the stock bumper. The bigger foglights are most likely the STi V5 bumper or the STi V4. In the US only MY98 had the small foglight bumper. Every year after that they had the V5. In Canada all Imprezas came with the small foglights because the V5 bumper didn't pass the crash safety test. Every car with the V5 bumper paid a lot of money to put that bumper on because you have to also buy a whole new rebar. Some people cut their old rebar to fit the V5 bumper but if ICBC catches you with a cut rebar, they won't cover your car if you get into an accident. A real conversion will run around 1400+ depending if you go for foglight covers or aftermarket foglights instead of the OEM Subaru lights.
