WTF is up with the classifieds?
We actually don't have a problem keeping our thread counts down two say 2-3 threads (done on most forums anyways). The main reason we are doing multiple threads is first we have over $500K in inventory (which I believe is substantially more than any other local shop) and that we have crazy deals available to local area customers. For example we are going to be offering the Volk 57F 18x8.5 wheels for $999 but for local area customers only (and we actually prefer non bay area guys not seeing it because they're going to call all day asking for the same price shipped) - we can combine this into one thread but a lot of times people who aren't spending a lot of time browsing through our specials miss out on these deals. That said we are willing to play by whatever rules that are laid out provided all other vendors do the same.

Personally I liked the big number of threads, if I saw a title with "bling bling wheels and some other stuff" I would completely ignore it, however one of the deals jumped off the page and I pounced on it. The reasoning also makes sense, if you look at the onslaught of threads, they are all picked up or installed which would indeed imply that it was for local people. Consolidating my make some people feel better, but I liked being able to glance at the page and see what is going on, and like it a lot better than "Parts for Sale".
I'm still aghast that a "staff member" attacks paying vendors openly, regardless of where your loyalties are, attacking someone who gives money to you is a bit ornery.

That's fair. I mean you guys have to get rid of a lot of stuff.
Besides, GS is actually selling useful stuff. Most the BAIC classifieds comprise of really gay, nonperformance related stuff.
If anything changed, i would like to have two FS boarods, for performance and non-performance items

I appreciate the deals. Shoot I wish there was more of this...better deals for local folks.
Its just the onslaught of threads that bugs me. You can't tell me that if I went in there right now and posted 12 DIFFERENT threads I wouldn't get smashed. Not only would members give me hell but mods would delete my threads. Bottom line. That's my point.
The reasoning of oh..it's different stuff is ludacris. So if I'm parting out my car I shouldl put up a thread for my wheels. One for my suspension. One for my stereo equipment. One for my turbo. One for my motor...etc?
No, absolutely not...I put one thread.
If you're too damn lazy to read through the thread then the deal will go to someone who is not. I have no problems flipping through a thread that said something like this...
Gruppe-S overstock blow out. Special deals to locals...see inside.
Something like that. Then inside have different posts for different deals. I know if I saw that I'd look inside.... a deals a deal. Shoot that VF34 deal is VERY tempting....too bad I'm broke.

I can definitely see the merits of the consolidation issue. But please keep in mind our products do not arrive all at one time. Usually when they do you'll see something like "JDM Container just landed, Specials!". But for example just last week 100 sets of STI pink injectors landed monday, 36x VF34's landed tuesday, the freight company dropped off 30 ACT clutches on thursday, and I am flying down tonight to pick up 117 sets of wheels that will probably be back here by Wed, a couple dozen AP's should be here tomorrow, and by friday we should be out of VF34's so the process starts again!
As you can see it's difficult to do "specials inside" when you get responses that are product specific but yet the product may not even be available in a weeks time!
Anyways, of course we are willing to play by whatever rules the management here thinks is fair!

i agree with onemanarmy, i browse the classifieds every other other day and i noticed that gs posted a whole lot of threads and before..they have never done this, so that kind of surprised me. i understand from both point of views...as a consumer if we want clutch installs or turbo upgrades, we'll head over the vender classifieds. As a buisness person, i would post in the norcal classifieds since they get more views...so...i dunno. its up to the mods i guess.
I also agree with the OP...there should be a restriction on how many classifieds (and of course bumps) that a vendor can post in the regional classifieds. i-club has been somewhat good with keeping it sane....I am not making a direct comparison of i-club with honda-tech, just merely a reference to H-T, but anything that takes us a step closer to H-T is a bad move.

I do agree that if members posts are consolidated, then the vendors should be as well.
Here is an example of a moderator doing it to a members post:
https://www.i-club.com/forums/norcal-classifieds-96/helix-catless-downpipe-%2A%2Abrand-new%2A%2A-151119/
see post # 1 and #2...that used to be 2 different threads.

haaaa. yeah I'm OG HT from back in the day. The worst part about them is that some of these vendors are husslers and they let them get away with it. I caught one vendor there talking out of their ***...talking about sponsorships and huge deals and this huge stock and they didn't even have a warehouse yet....yeah for making local call check ups..haaa. One of the mods was on board with me...the admin and site folks did nothing....that's the last time I ever went over there.

I think a lot of those threads can be consolidated into one. Theres no need for a new thread just for wrx, sti, stage 1, stage 2, etc. Thats 4 threads that really only needed 1 to get the point across.
Although there are some great deals, the prices are killing the market for all the other vendors. I'm sure a lot of other vendors are probably pretty pissed. I know I would be.
