WRX Withdrawl

I have been moving houses for the last 3 days, so my car is parked at my parents' place while I steal their truck. It is about the polar opposite of my STi. The handling of a boat, no top end power, barely any brakes. I mean it carrys a whole lot more than my car but it's just painful. Today I caught myself trying to shift into 6th gear on the freeway. Not a good thing when the vehicle you are driving has only 5 gears. I think if nothing else, I may have to take my car out for a drive tonight when I get off work. Test out the new proxes 4s now theres some rain on the ground. I donno really the purpose of this post.. I guess does anyone else get the same way when they are without their car?

-Matt

On a random sidenote, I'm stuck at my friend's winery's tastingroom for the day pouring so if any wine drinkers want to brave the rain up to Geyserville I can hook things up.

Try 7 weeks with no car on the weekdays and rentals on the weekends. That'll get to you. Don't get to power happy in the rain though.

driving other POS machines (US Made Cars/Trucks) really makes me appreciate how well built Japanese cars are. For instance driving an explorer as opposed to our new 4runner...OMG....the 4 runner is so much more refined. Throttle response, transmission, brakes, steering especially. There is no comparison.

My family always said "Buy US made and buy it for life"
I recently realized thats because nobody else wants to buy your headeache!

try this:

Live in Japan for 10 years. Owned 2 S13 Silvias, one that I did a CA18DE to CA18DET engine swap, an A31 Cefiro (w/ RB20DET and 250ps at the wheels) and ultimately a 94 180SX (w/SR20DET). Then I get the news I have to transfer back to the US.

SO, I end up buying an....*yuck* Astro Van and drive that for a year....the shakes got so bad that when my wife went back to Japan during Xmas 04-05....I went and sold the Astro and picked up the Subaru.....

Once this type of thing gets into you....forever will it own you.

Are you going to be stuck there tomorrow too??

I'd be so up there. What's the name of the winery? I might have use for it later on this year for a little drive I'm planning.

Which one? Darn it! I drove right by. My friend had to drop by his office which is near there.

(I know how you feel, I drive a work truck 5 days a week. The wrx is only a weekend car. It is nice not buying gas )

I'm not at the tasting room today, but for the record its Meeker. Right at the stopsign in downtown geyserville. Looks like I'll end up working there once a week, probably on saturday most often. I'll try to give more advance warning the next time I'm working.

As for everyone else that responded, it's nice to know I'm not suffering alone when I'm without my wrx.

My friends office is at Geyser Peak. I'll stop by there one of these days and say hi. I might be working at one of the Dry Creek/Russian River wineries on the weekend during the summer. I work for wine .
