The cooper S is pushing >30k if you get it nicely appointed, not to mention a ~5-6 month wait to get them to build the one you want. Not to mention the markups are still active around here.
Get the STi, or just keep the wagon and hook it up nicely.

i want a mini.
but the fact that i'd be driving a car that was british taken over by germans and assembled in mexico kinda scares me.

It's really a silly question. The cars are nothing alike. Just depends on what you want. Keep the wagon i guess and save some cash. (although i voted on trading it for an STi) i take back my vote

I like all the homophobes who are saying you have to be gay to drive a Mini. I guess I should tell my buddy that his dad is gay.
Mini's are really cool, fun cars, but nowhere as fun or as functional as a Impreza wagon. If you've already got another wagon and just want a fun car to drive then I'd say get the Cooper S. It's super fun, and having a small car is a great thing too, especially if you're in the city a bunch. The basic Mini is kinda slow, albeit a blast to drive.
