yikes.. at least we can try to argue that the new STi looks better and it doesn't understeer like hell, and the interior is better and we have bigger displacement .. oh wait a sec..

 

maybe against a EVO VIII, but didn't the IX dyno more stock than the STi of the same generation and run better times? and when mods come to play, well that 4g63 is just a beast.. and if they are bringing their EVOs to where we bring our Subes (GST, etc) those guys can make either car fast, but $ for $ the EVO will have the slight edge.. of course we either way we can always brag about our interior being a lot better in both the VIII or IX, don't know about the X though, they are smoooth, love that tech package they have with the navi.

If I remember the story correctly, this guy is not the original owner of the car, and not the one that ordered the plate. I've seen him on 101, I got in front of him and threw on the hazards (at the speed limit ) then moved back over and he pulled up next to me and we exchanged peace signs or something of the sort.

Yeah, I agree also. I have respect for all cars that stand out because of their performance, be it a WRX, EVO, STi, Corvette, camero, etc... I wouldn't drive a lot of the cars out there because I prefer my car, AWD pocket rockets, but that doesn't mean I don't respect other cars just because I don't prefer to drive them...

I have a bunch of respect for the evolution line up, almost as much as the subie line up. I don't see a need to hate on the evo line up... Hell, if I had the money I'd have an EVO and an STi... talk about indifference!

But yeah, I never understood the rivalry between the two. They are both really great cars that out perform almost all cars on the road today, there's no reason to hate on either. Im glad Im not alone here.

We can however hate on the base model lancer, and they can hate on our base model impreza because neither car performs well compared to their big brothers.

Most people that buy EVO RS's tend to keep them in sleeper mode, why else would they buy the model with no wing and no frills? A couple of my friends have EVO RS's and they are pretty much stock looking but have quite a bit done motor-wise. One of the friends is in his 40's and doesn't like the boy racer look.

I bet that car has some things done to it, it's just hiding it and not flaunting it.
