well i wa just watching SPEED and they were finishing up Busch NASCAR qualifying. (i didn't watch it really) But i wanted to know if it ran ovewrtime. Well yes it did by 5 minutes. That means that rallly XS will start either 5 minutes late. Or we'll lose 5 minutes of program. I hate nascar~!!!!!

have you seen the ad for the episode of Wind Tunnel tha airs on the 17th? there was a spot in the ad with Nicky Grist talking about how pretty much every rally driver out there was emulating whoever the mystery driver is. i'm kinda curious to see who it is they're talking about.

No Don i haven't heard about that Wind Tunnel episode. Hey maybe someone should call up and complain about how poorly SPEED has been treating the championship this season.

Rally XS was great last night. Tommi had a hard time holding back the tears when he was talking about his retiring. He'll be sorely nissed.
When they were talking to Colin McRae i found it funny that he said either Petter or Markko would win the race instead of one of his fellow teammates. Guess there isn't much love there between himself and Citroen at this time.

hmm. i have that episode of wind tunnel set to record, but maybe one of these evenings i'll call in and ***** about the rally coverage on speed. i wonder how quick they'd get me off the air?

Rally XS (or what i caught of it last night, due to freakin' NASCAR qualifying running long) was pretty good. it's too bad that Makinnen is retiring. he really looked sad to go, so i'm sure that he has a really good reason. he did mention that he'd be spectating at a lot of the 2004 rallies, so we should see him again on occasion.

i didn't catch much of the segment with McRae previewing the Rally GB, due to the aforementioned issues with Speed. i'm surprised that he didn't pick either Carlos or Sebastian to win in Wales either. i guess when you don't have a contract for next year, you can pretty much say whatever the hell you want. and no, i don't think there is much love for McRae in the Citroen camp.

 

Todays the big day. I can't wait for the race. I'm going on that north bay drive today with all the guys. I already said if it's getting late i'm out of there. I'm not letting some little drive come between me and the final WRC race of the season though.

i'm glad i'm not the only one up this early on a sunday morning. i've got the second half of an up/down pipe and turbo install to get done today. is spent more time on it last night than i'm willing to admit to, and i damn well better be done in time for Rally GB.

oh yeah, and my satellite dish better work. with all the rain and thunder last night/this morning, things better not have gotten screwed up. it did a number on my ability to sleep though, that's for damn sure.

 

Ya i'm up early every Sunday. I've got to stay somewhat on my work hours, or it's hell getting up Monday morning at 3 am. Good luck with the install.

 

YES YES YES!!!! PETTER SOLBERG IS THE 2003 WRC WORLD CHAMPION. I've been saying it all year and keeping my fingers crossed. But it happened. He drove a great race and deserved to be crownd king the the WRC.

I can't tell you how happy i am. My wife Christina, psoper and myself sat while we drank a few bottles of good red wine and cheered him on the whole way. Although they had giving Sebastian orders not to push. I don't think he could have done better.

And of course you've got to give it up to Tommi. He's going out on top of the podium. Hope he has a great life out side the WRC.

in all seriousness, it's great to see Petter win the title. he drove well all year long despite quite a bit of adversity (totalling the car on the recce, and then winning the rally) and deserves it.

i'm sick and tired of team orders. Ferrari screwd F1 with it, and now Citroen is getting into the game. telling Loeb not to push for the title is ridiculous, even the Peugot camp thought so! it's like telling Barry Bonds not to swing for the fence! i don't know if he could have beaten Petter, but it would have been nice to see a really clean fight, free from bullsh*t politics.
