Would you buy a car from carmax?

i'm looking at a vehicle tommorow, its a 2001 with less than 29k on it, and am definitely gonna check the car on the lift... the car seems to check out (clean auto history with carfax and autocheck, or whatever its called) but i've read some discerning stories about carmax online, so... would you buy a car
from carmax? and if you did, would you opt for the extended warranty? (price would be up 1500 dollars for 4 years, 40k more miles)

my uncle works for carmax in las vegas and my dad's purchased 2 vehicles from him (2002 Ford Windstar and 2006 Nissan truck). Both vehicles run well and are not lemons. Test drive the car for sure and maybe bring a mechanic if you can?

I got my STi form them. Since I had my load through a local credit union it was easy once I got there. I didn't get the extended warranty, I want to mod my car so I didn't think it was a good value for me.

I bought my 01RS from them back in 04/05. Never had any issues with the car but then again I had it for less than a year because I traded up for my 98RS. The buying process was easy with them and they weren't ****** or anything.

I think they have a decent return policy as the guy who bought my '03 WRX Sedan actually showed up in an '02 Sedan he bought from Carmax, liked mine better and had zero issues returning the '02 to Carmax and picked up my car directly.

I had a bad experience with Carmax, my best friend's GF was trying to buy a new car, and we all went to carmax and all they did is **** us around. We told them what we wanted, and instead of saying that they didn't have it, they tried to sell us a buncha POS cars. When we stated the second choice, they showed us one that they had, she didn't like the color, but liked the trim package and she decided to try some negotiating and my best friend's dad used to work there, so he tried to get them to cut the BS and offered them the price that it was worth and said that it wouldn't go any higher (because he knew how much they got it for) and they asked us to leave!

I would definitely take it to one of the many great shops here before you set anything in stone.

Adam and Noah at LIC are like Sherlock f'in Holmes when it comes to checking out subies, they told me **** about my car that left me like they obviously have a lot of experience and even told me that I had non stock bolts in a few places.
