software is pretty cheap to let you tunnel through the network portal.

Or if you are handy, you can set up your own network relay but you will have to know what you are doing.

IP tunnelling is very hard to stop, just don't overuse the bandwidth on a per hour basis, and they should never catch on. I.E. don't watch movies over the net....limit your daily usage to a few megs and nobody will know. You can browse all the formus you want.

I 'd say learn to live with it. Are you willing to try to circuvent the security/network people and risk getting fired? Maybe if you hate your job and can get another one pretty fast.

Depending on how bad they locked things down, you can possible go to a language translation site like bablefish and translate i-club from something like traditional chinese to english. Some stuff might show up funny, but for the most part all the english text and graphics will just come through. Also, if you have trouble checking email and you have a school email you can probably get into that, so just forward your outside mails to the school email address.

 

found out a worm got into the network so they locked things down temporarily. its all good now tho. luckily i didn't turn in those resignation papers yet!!!
