The wing is back!
"In the past couple of years, if you were looking for a turbocharged, AWD rally-bred sedan with an oversized rear wing, you were really limited to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.
But now Subaru is reviving a large rear spoiler of its own on the new 2011 Impreza WRX STI four-door, which debuted at the New York auto show.
The sedan joins the five-door wagon in Subaru’s flagship performance lineup and marks the first time the STI has been offered in two body styles. The STI sedan adopts the wide-body design found on the wagon, with heavily flared front fenders and rear quarter panels. In addition, the bumpers feature a more aggressive look with blacked-out fog lights, a new grille with black inset and the aforementioned oversized rear wing.
Helping to raise the handling prowess in both wagon and sedan versions, Subaru reworked the suspension tuning, which was previewed on the 2010 Impreza WRX STI Special Edition. Ride height is lowered, spring rates increase, antiroll bars are thicker, and front pillow-ball bushings and rear subframe bushings are stiffened. The standard 18-inch wheels are also new and weigh 17.6 pounds less than the previous wheels. All of this results in reduced body roll, more neutral handling response and better lateral grip capability.
Both the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI sedan and wagon land in showrooms in late summer."

i bet marketing was comparing the weight of those BBS's to the standard 5-spokes...they must be sipping too much
and juice!
I'm kinda disappointed they didn't upgrade anything on the powertrain.
Come on, the base mustang makes the same power and gets good mpg.....sure it's SRA and RWD, but it's also cheaper than even the WRX!
On the bright side, now I know there is no possible reason for me to trade up to '11
........I wonder if the sunroof means Limited, with heated leather seats?
EDIT: Subaru should've given the hatch rear bumpers some (M3-style?) loving like those on the sedans.
EDIT2: Mods, I think there's another 2011 WRX/STI thread, should be merged?

I feel like nothing on the car matchs, I know the 02-07 are not to everyones liking, but atleast all the silly flairs scoops and wings of the 02-07 match eachother
even mazda was able to get the newer rounded car designs to work with flairs and scoops

Im a Porsche fanatic, and I can tell you that I strongly dislike the Boxter lineup. The Cayman is really nice, but you just can't beat a true 911, especially the turbo (the REAL Porsche in my opinion). My dream would be to own a GT2 or a GT3... Pure sex. The Boxter, not so much.
