Hey all,
So I'm going in a week down to San Diego for a National Autox Event. I'm trying to look around for someone who might have some Hoosier Wet race tires that I can borrow but it's hard to find set with the same diameter/tire sizing. I might just borrow a set of street tires, cause if it ends up raining and we have nothing, we aren't going to win any hoosiers anyways, so might as well just try to place as best we can.
I'll be driving Justin Moore's '05 STi in F Prepared. It's a ****ing beast of a car, and we have a change, esp if it rains against the 914 and M3.
So, I'm looking for help from I-clubbers. Anyone got any wide wheel/tire setups for an STi or Evo that I can borrow? I will only need it if it rains when we run, and not at all otherwise. If it ends up being dry we will be sticking to race slicks, so no wear will happen. (any wear on rain setup is minimal anyways cause it would be raining, and it's only 3 runs/person, per day (2 days)
I'm looking for like 255+ on like 17x9+ or 18x9+. Offset would be like +30/+25 or wider.
Star Specs, RE-11s, Neovas, RE-01Rs, Toyo R1Rs, Hankook RS3...
If you know of anyone, if you know of any EVO owners who could help, I would GREATLY appreciate it! Again, this is only as a back up, and only if I can't find a suitable set of Hoosier wets.

I've got some sweet 15" forged BBS STi wheels with snow tires...
They probably won't fit over the brakes you're rocking though
Good luck mang!

I got a set of Hoosier wets mounted up already, they are the Grand AM spec rains and not the same as the lame one's commercially available
You can borrow them as long as you promise to only use them if it's got standing water as these things will destroy themselves in 10 seconds on dry pavement!

and I promise I will only use them in a downpour or standing water. If it's damp the hoosier A6 will do just fine with a couple runs of heat in them. But in San Diego, it ****ing POURS

Thanks Mike, you're an angel

When do you want to come get them? I need to get them off the racking.
Is Justin leaving the car as is or does he want me to take a look at it with the MBC?

It's take super crazy pedal patience to drive this car around on autox. Another 50 ft lbs would just be crazy.
More HP up top would be cool though, but more TQ? I dunno, it's straight up stump puller status!
I'll come by tomorrow (Sat) during the day.

Um, I think we will leave it as is for our sake!
