Why are some people so inconsiderate?

What really drives me mad is I was contemplating taking up two parking spots to avoid situations such as this.... but, my conscience was telling me not too b/c i would be labeled as the "douche-bag" who took up two spots...

trust me i know how you feel , my car was recently painted , i see some door dings on it already and minor scratches from when people walk by and their keys or backpack scratch the paint.

See, that would bug me more if I just recently paid to get my car re-painted and someone scratched or dented my car! I've got original paint so I just learn to cope with it.

In my experience, if you try to call the cops for a door ding they don't like it much.
Some people just don't give a crap about cars and they just don't pay attention when opening their doors. Just like people who say "bumpers are for bumping" in reference to parallel parking.
I typically try to park away from other people, but this doesn't often work either.
