Why are rx7's so cheap?

I don't know. I'm 35, pretty much any second car I add to my policy lowers my premium 
Nice thing about a 240 is the back seat. My friend in early '90s had a V6 200SX SE -- that was a sweet car! Like this one, but a red 5-speed.
Another cool car to own would be a Corolla GT-S, my neighbor has a very nice one.

LOL, I wish I had a WRX when I was 20 
For cars, we had RX-7s, CRXs and 240Z - 280Z, nice thing about those is womenz had to ride in your lap.

It's not that different than the first generation WRX platform - before the turbo kicked in at 3,000 rpm, people complained that they don't accelerate...
...but above 3,000 rpm, you're golden. When I had my FC ('86 RX-7) I usually ran it between 3,000 and 5,500 even though the redline is around 7k on the motor. Keep up on the oil consumption, and you're going to have a fun, high rev car.

Somewhat common question about swapping a rotary into a Miata. Reality is it's is pretty much never done. It just isn't worth the large cost and amount of work involved when you can make very respectable 250whp+ power on a stock Miata engine with a turbo. It would be a novelty, not practical at all.

Don't get me wrong, a rotary in a Miata would be awesome. I'm just saying it would be very expensive.
Now you guys got me thinking about rotary cars, I miss the damn things. RX-3 would be perfect because you wouldn't have to smog it. And they look sweet.

I'm still on the hunt for a daily driver for my dad and figured I might as well buy a rwd because I will be owning the car after he uses it for 2-3 years. I was hoping to buy a 2.5rs, but my budget is only a couple grand so looks like that's not happening.
Been looking around at cheaper rwd cars on craigslist and realized that rx7's are ridiculously cheap. I don't know anything about rotary engines, do they go bad after a certain time? Are they difficult to fix?
