Yeah, I've gotten a few waves, quite a lot actually, its pretty cool. The thing is..there's probably two kind of subaru owners...the true enthusiasts who are on a board like nasioc, clubwrx iwsti or i-club and the other type who are the ricer, wannabe cool kids, the fast and the furious types. Actually, I only remember not getting a wave from like 1 out of 10 subarus. lots of love and im in SF.

Actually, I see a lot of people that are older (both men and women) in wrx's (esp wagons) nowadays. I guess in the end, it's still a super practical economy car.

Eh? Between the price of super-unleaded, low mpg, and maintenance costs, the average WRX is about as economical as driving an F150. I wouldn't call it an economy car, and definitely a faux-pas for tree huggers!

why don't we all just put an "i-club" sticker on the side window or something,
then we would know who to wave at.

true. but with as much power you get for the money AND awd along with it, it's a pretty good deal. as for the tree-hugger part...yeah, don't know about that seeing as how I'm running catless

I was on 680N in Milpitas on Monday morning driving back home from the gym. The guy looks like in his 30's. He was driving behind me so I stuck my hand out and waved. Then he passed me and I waved at him again but he just flat out ignored me. Maybe he thought i was a psycho or something.

But in general, people have to be careful. Might get shot at, you know? Weird people out there... be careful
When L.A. had all the 'drive by shootings' I had a very modified Saab Turbo... the back license frame said "Cover Me.... I'm Changing Lanes!"

The ones who laughed the hardest were the CHP!

Later, changed it to: "My Other Car Is Up My Nose".... the CHP didn't laugh anymore?

SJPD thought my "You Just Got Beat By A Wagon" sticker was hilarious; then he gave me a ticket

I don't even bother. If someone says wassup, I assume they are apart of or know of i-club or whatever and I was wassup back. But, just imagine if you don't know and you're minding your own business and some random guy in the same car waves at you.

Today I saw a '02 or '03 CGM Impreza OBS. Since I drive an 06 SGM OBS, I stopped to take a closer look. OBS's are a rare sight. I was standing next to it and saw a young guy coming. I said a few words to chat with him, but he wasn't interested in talking with me. His only words when I asked him if it was his car was "yeah why?"
WTH??

I'm starting to agree that owners with modded cars will be friendly towards other subie owners. After all, most modders are usually on these forums.
I don't have any serious mods on mine, just disabling the repetitive seatbelt warning and pulling the plug on the daytime running light module.
