You know how that same sign reads to a Google CEO flying thru a red? "red light violation: $5" as he laughs blasting thru a red intersection.

but it must be sooo hard for the 1000's in the bay trying to make it on $500,000 a year, boo hoo~ sarcasm mark
Thats a fairly ridiculous statement I think. Money is money, and we are taking it up the A$$ right now. Sure, a speeding ticket may not have as big of an impact to some as it does others. What do you recommend that sign say, "speeding ticket $371.00 plus 1/2 of your paycheck." And I hate to say this, but people who "appear" to be wealthy don't seem to get as many breaks in court, just from my experience. In other words, don't wear a suit to court, some slacks and a polo will save you a couple hundo on your ticket. The one thing I think people don't realize is this, the higher income earners are ALREADY paying more in their taxes. Even if we all were taxed at the same level, they make more, so they are taxed more. If you were making 500K a year and had a family, mortgage, car payment etc, would you feel the same way? 500K doesn't go quite as far as some people think. Still, its a lot of money, don't get me wrong.

If they make this move to tax us more they will end up keeping it in the end. Make people think its only 3 years but people will be used to paying it and there will be more reason for the state to keep it at that point. It sucks all the way around.

of course they worked hard.

but having people sign a contract that says the more you make the more you pay isnt gonna hold anyone back from going to school for 4 or 8 years and not doing what they initially intended.

Give someone the choice of no tax and living an average life, or super high tax living a luxurious life...i know which one i would choose.

They technically don't live in the USA... I don't see why we help or take from them at all.

yeah pretty much...i know it sounds silly to print on a sign but thats the way it should be. Those signs are there as warnings to people and reminders, and people who walk around with $1,000 in their pocket everyday dont bat an eye at them.

You know how many people park in SF and dont give a F about the ticke tthey expect to finds on their car 4 hours later? i bet it happens all the time. Ive even seen some douche park in a handicap spot and leave his car there for 30 minutes. I know a few well off people and once you get past their arrogance, they are normal people like you and me, but some are just F'd up douchey people that need to pay.

You don't think it's fair to ask someone with say $2 million dollars in one of their savings accounts to carry more of the financial burden of the state than say someone with $2 in theirs?

I don't think Kyle is trying to say bend of rich boy. I think he's just saying that the wealthy have a larger cushion and can afford it. Especially the excessively wealthy. No one needs $100 million dollar home. Sorry. That person can afford to give a couple million dollars to the education system or in to the general tax fund. But instead they get breaks and hire lawyers to find ways for them to avoid paying anything.

This country is carried on the shoulders of the middle class. The upper class uses us to make their money for them and the lower class uses us in welfare. I grew up poor as poor.. so did a lot of the other parts of my family and none of us were on welfare. It's far too easy to live off that **** and use it as an excuse for failure. Hell my cousin is making $30,000 a year right now raising two kids on her own and she's about to buy a house. I was making more than twice that and spending it all.

Our society needs to snap out of it.

That's ludicrous. It's called living within your means. There is no reason you should not be able to live FAT on that and retire early.

Instead of buying a $6 million dollar home buy a 1 million dollar home. Instead of spending $180,000 on furniture that makes you look rich spend $50,000.

People that make that much money and are *****ing that it doesn't go as "far as it used to" are retarded. Sorry but **** that. That's an asinine statement if I've eve read one. You work 20 years at $500k a year and you've got $10 million dollars. Most folks are lucky to make 10 percent of that.

You pay me $500k a year for 5 years and I guarantee you that I'll have enough investment set up to set my family up for at least 2 generations and I'll still be living fat.

To begin with, if you make 500K a year, it 20 years, you DO NOT have 10 million dollars. You have to take into account taxes, inflation and so on. Given that right now, that income earner would fork out over 40% of that income in taxes, and with an average inflation rate of 3.5%, you are looking at about 280K per year after all is said and done with, over 10 years, you have about 2.8 million. Still, thats a S&*# ton of money, buy if you are going make an argument get your numbers right. And, that amount of money will NOT last for 2 generations, at all.

Fair enough...no loop holes & every one making more than the poverty limit pays __%.

No one is a victim unless they allow it.
You don't like your lot in life?
Work harder, make more $$, and save it.

Arnold's a douche. He needs to find a way to tax people coming into our state who don't live here. Especially since people talk **** on our state so much.

My numbers where right. I just didn't feel it necessary to break it down but apparently it is.

You make 10 million. And yes with $280k a year I could set my family up. It's called businesses and investments. I did not say that THAT money would set my family up. I said I could set my family up. That means educations for my kids and grand kids. Not money for them to bilk off of for the rest of their lives. Live within your means and invest.
