I had just about the EXACT experience with Allstate and AAA myself.

My recent experience with 21st Century...
- A deer hit me up in the Fortuna (Eureka) area.
- free Towing would only get me to the nearest town
- ended up paying for 2 days storage and the second towing fee (~$500)
- I didn't want to fix my car 400 miles away so I got it back to my own bodyshop (second towing).
- 21st Century never had a problem with which bodyshop I go to.
- I wrote them a letter saying I would like to get some money for the second towing and storage.
- got the check in a week!

btw, for anyone who gets into a similar situtation in the future (vehicle disabled too far away). Rent a Uhaul with auto trailer to tow the car back. It's A LOT cheaper, that's what I did.

I have mercury and I love it. They have nothing but treat me right. With my civic someone tried to steal it and jacked it all up. They covered everything and the shop they went through was great. Hooked me up with a better cd player than I had in my car in the first place. They even picked up and dropped off my car at my house twice. I didn't have to do jack. My room mate has them and has had 3 accidents and they hook him up..that's why I switched. My last company cost me my truck and a ton of money with my civic and sent me to a crap body shop that couldn't match my paint.

How much do you guys pay? I pay $341 every 2 months....about a $170 a month.

I have a clean record and I'm 26.

that is what I call customer treatment.

Luckily I have AAA plus so I get 100 miles free towing and I have 100k warranty so if something with the car goes wrong they tow it to the dealership free and they pay for my lodging and food while I am there and get me a replacement vehicle while they work on my car....a WRX.

but yeah if I hit something....and I'm over 100 miles I'll do what you said....tow that **** home my damn self. Towing companies will bend you over and sell your virginity for an extra mile.

218 a month for full coverage with 1 speed contest 1 @ fault accident. I'm 23.

It's the cheapest I could find anywhere... even cheaper than progressive. When I get hitched next year... and when my points drop off it'll be around 120.00 a month. 50 bucks off for just being married!!! Oh course i'll have thousands of dollars of other bills... but hey! $50 bucks!!!

If you ever got AAA to stop billing you , let me know how you did it. They sent us forms to fill out to prove that we had insurance from some other company, we sent them in, they sent us more bills and threats.
