I am a big fan of the classic DRAGNET.

They did a pretty good job of recreating it. Al Bundy is perfect for the role.

The only thing that pissed me off was in the end, when the narrator told of the assailant's fate.

"He was sentenced to die by lethal injection."

Doh! How did they let that one slip? Any fool knows that California's death method is the Gas Chamber at the foot of the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge inside the walls of San Quentin.

Oh well...other then that, it was nicely done.

Anyhow, great show, good casting job too. And ya the blended the style of the old show with the new crime drama style very well.

i think they now do lethal injection here in CA. they changed it a while back because the gas chamber was considered too cruel because it doesnt kill you right away.

Before Dragnet it was "Highway Patrol" but most of you whippersnappers were but a twinkle in your rents eyes when that was on the tube.....

 

Well, then I guess the show was a little more factually accurate than I thought!

I was unaware that CA had modified the law. I guess when you live out of the country for 5 years, you fall behind the knowledge curve!


I stand corrected. But I must insert my opinion. Lethal Injection is too friendly...Gas or the Chair are more appropriate methods...of hanging! There is a good one.

Train wrecking...a capital offense...who would have thought?

hanging is good cause its much cheaper for the taxpayer. they could actually charge people to gather and watch and actually MAKE $ off it! I heard that lethal injection stuff costs hella $$$$$!!

 

I'm sorry, but hanging is not cool. Paying to watch someone die, that's ****ing sickening.

Drew, what's the point of having pain before you die?? Dude, they're gonna be dead, who gives a **** whether they feel any pain? I say make it quick, bury 'em and be on with the next rapist/murderer/etc.

Death Penalty is costly, coast less for life in prison. I favor Life in Prison... know why? cause that is what is painful. To live the rest of your live, slowly waiting, until you die. That's punishment. Killing someone makes quick work. It favors the prisoner, cause they die, and no more worries for them.

Hanging, people watching... that's really disgusting.

Hanging is a quick, and humane way to dispose of the rubbish of the earth.

I personally would not pay to check it out, but hey, if it could be turned into revenue for the state, and people want to see that sickening event, more power to them.

Life in prison is too easy. I just feel that the appeals process for death row inmates is unjust. It is unfair to the condemned, and to the tax payer. They should carry out sentences like they did in times past. Swiftly!
