Exclamation Have you checked out this master cylinder bracket group buy?

Genuine CUSCO master cylinder reinforcement brace for MY02 through MY04. Not yet tested on MY05 models. Supposed to be a simple install compared with the MRT bracket.

I've ordered one because I've seen how much the Impreza firewall can flex when pushing on the brake pedal. That makes for an inconsistent brake pedal 'feel' under hard braking, not to mention a gradual weakening of that area of the firewall over time.

I looked at it, but it's pretty expensive considering the MRT one is only $50. I still have that thing sitting in my garage as I didn't want to bother with it on the STi. It just didn't make any noticeable difference on my WRX.

Exactly. Although the Cusco one looks to be easier to install.

I still have the MRT one. Functionally, it is the same as the Cusco.

How about you buy the bracket for me and I'll evaluate it for you.

It's a pain to install on the 02/03 since it was designed for the 01's and their slightly different body style. The bolt holes don't line up with the existing holes in the strut tower and you basically have to tweak the sheetmetal to make it work.
