I've used this service to get lodging quite a few times. Hotels or cabins.

We went up there on Christmas eve, and stayed here: http://www.shinneyboocreek.com/default.html

We drove around Tahoe area Sunday looking for some snow to play in. ouldn't find any except for Boreal and some muddy **** at Soda Springs. On the way back it started pouring rain. We stop at a rest area at Donner Summit. The rained turned to snow and we were greeted with our White Christmas. We played at the rest area for awhile and then got back on the road to our snowy cabin.

The traffic during the snowfall was miserable. Although, I'm happy to report the Subie was passed by the chain inspectors and handled wonderfully in the white stuff.

The cabins we stayed in are pretty nice too. A little off the beaten path though.

Just got back... Started out with rain, wind, and occasionally some snow, then it snowed wednesday night all night which of course EVERYONE ON THE ENTIRE PLANET decided to drive up to the snow Thursday because of it (the Soda Springs exit was backed onto the freeway cause of everyone going to the 3 ski resorts back there and cross country skiing!!!)

Anyway, today its raining again after a couple of inches of snow last night... Took a before and after shot wednesday though, showing how in about 30 minutes snow managed to start piling up on the car

It's suppose to pound up there tomorrow because it's pounding rain right all day today. I doubt the resorts will be able to be fully opened tomorrow. High winds and upwards of 5 feet of snow is expected.
