Seriously!

It's okay, we have interwebs music industry pro's on the boards. They know more than THE professional who made a living doing so...

I remembered when Aaron told me Freeway (of State Property/Rocafella) stopped by with a few other rappers to record a track one night. Man, he was pissed that his mic diffusers smelled like dro at the end of the recording session. Haha.

In my opinion that happens to be extremely far from the truth (you can look at his track record to prove it) Jay-Z ****ing sucks.

lol, think what you want.

when you start getting royalty checks, vote for the grammys, and attend the show, you can post a VALID opinion on what goes on on the other side of the glass.

im not talking about record sales, or $$$, im talking about the fact that almost NOBODY knows what people really sound like.

Are we arguing about who likes who because it appeals to them, or are we arguing who everyone else should like because of all the vainglorious back patting going on in here?

here are my points:

Almost EVERY SINGLE "ARTIST" in the pop music industry sucks. (i.e Taylor Swift, Kanye, beyonce, JAY-Z, Alicia keys,)

EVERYONE is soooooo dr'd up in Pro tools that they think they are the ****.

There is more to music then Hip hop.

that is ALL....

at the end of the day, people like who they like. I listen to all of these people that suck. I sure hope music listeners all over soon realize that they are getting ripped off and scammed everytime they listen to a modern record.

I can't say I disagree with you on mainstream artists not being able to replicate their sound live, not even by a long shot. I don't really listen to much mainstream music and the stuff I do know is just stuff I hear in passing.

I can sympathize with you though, I cringe when I see what some 'artists' sell to clients and the praise it receives from people who don't know any better.

People like what they like, and there is nothing wrong with that. Listen to what you want to listen to!

But yeah, people get their panties in a bunch when they are told their favorite artist is about as legit as baking soda cocaine. Plenty of people out there wouldn't even ****ing know on a first try. They'd still buy, and not know 'til they had something real.

But there isn't any real music anymore, any real voices.

I like Taylor Swift. I don't listen to her music all that much, but she hot, can act, and doesn't sound bad live. That's about all I can ask for these days.

What I like about Jay-Z the most? His NY dress style. Be he didn't invent that either.

Imagine my reaction when Aaron laughed at me for being a Kanye West fan when I played "Late Registration" for him when it leaked a month early. Even though I told him Jon Brion was helping with the keys, he still commented, "Well, doesn't sound like it. It still sounds AWFUL. Hahahahaha." Not that I hated Kanye since then, but Ye ain't what he's cracked up to be. I did like "College Dropout" the best only because Kanye actually made all his beats himself (on paper). The other rap albums he put out just had mostly other peoples' beats with his stamp of approval on it. Although, you can say the same about Dr. Dre's upcoming "Detox" album where he's got a bunch of well known producers to crank out stuff for him for almost the past decade. Not saying Dre's easily as bad as Kanye, nor am I putting him on a pedestal either. It is what it is and how each dude uses his resources, but I digress.
