Where would you go for...
replacing a torn CV boot and inspection of the joint, etc...
I have grease on my wheel from the hole, it's a very small hole, but still throwing grease so needs to be fixed. Also, I notice a ton of grease on the other side of the axle (to the transmission) which was probably there before my warantee expired, but I never looked.
Is there anyplace that does this kind of normal repair work specifically on Subarus that is not a dealer? Especially one near Milpitas or somewhere south of Oaktown off 880.
does gb do this kind of work or just installs? Is redstar gone now? Is there anyhting in Milpitas?
I'd rather not go to a dealer mostly because of the inconvenience of not having one in the East Bay anywhere near me. (Redwood City is most convenient, but still quite a pain.)

I trust GB (even Gino
), but I don't know what all parts are needed.
Could be all the grease is gone and the U-joint is toast, could be the same thing at the transmission side. Is this grease, that is now all over my rim, the same grease for the wheel bearing? If so that could be gone too. Part of the problem is that I just don't know what all I need and I don't know enough about axles, CVDs, and bearings to be able to find out by myself.
I may just need the rubber boot, but I may need half the parts that make up the drivers side front axle.
