Where Should I Go To Buy a Gun
#32
Damn your a lucky man!! Maybe I will take a trip up there
On a side note, I went into J&R about an hour ago just to BS and talk to the guys in the shop. Hands down, the best experience and got more info talking to the guys than I ever would have thought. They were all helpful, nice, patient with my 100 questions I asked.. Completely confident in their shop and buying my firearm from them!! I have not however bought anything yet, they gave me a couple more Remington's to check out before I make my final decision so I'm going to take their advice and do that. Now to do some research and find where some good outdoor ranges are!!
Where do you guy's like to go shooting?

if you're new to guns and don't know much i'd go to target masters. they're pretty nice to people with a good selection. reeds are jerks, irvington arms are jerks.... almost all gun stores are jerks.
name of the game is to find all you need to know about the gun you want. walk in, say i want that, give them money, do paper work, walk out. or prepare to get pissed off by the guru store worker who will talk to you like a child.

You can't shoot long-guns at Target Masters
We actually had a I-club shooting meet a few years ago.
It was at Targetmasters, this dude named Steve showed up with a full-auto MP5... awesome

Where Should I Go To Buy a Gun
Cash n Carry in Arizona! Woohooo..
Anyways... Why do you want a 308 bolt? Long distance? Try a Savage 338 Lapua with a Nightforce scope. You can't go wrong!

Take a look at SWFA SS scopes, I'm told they're the best bang for the buck. Other than that: Nightforce, Leupold, Swarovski, Schmidt and Bender, Zeiss.... the list goes on and on. It really depends on what distances you want to shoot.

They have always been vary nice to me at reed's. I brought in my .50BMG to let them oogle, that may have something to do with it.
Also- I remember an old friend of mine that I have lost touch with had a very nice :read expensive: scope that had a lifetime warranty. Like if you break it we will replace it. He wound up smashing it on a rock when he fell one time and they sent him a new one no questions asked.
Any one know what brand that was?

So, I got the thumbs up from the shop that they distributor does in fact have the rifle im looking for in stock. I will be going down there today to give em' my $$ and my 10 day waiting period will begin. I hope when my rifle arrives its what I am expecting and is everything the guys at the shop told me it was!
I did in fact end up going with the XCR tactical Long Range.
Centerfire Rifle - Model 700 XCR Tactical Long Range - Remington Centerfire Rifles
I have not ordered any type of optics yet however, going to keep looking for the right now and find a good deal. Thanks for all the info and helping me make my decision.
