After many repeated bad experiences at Carlsen, I would never ever leave anything I cared about there. Use Carlsen Subaru at your own risk!

Roger Kraus

I went in looking for:

-1.5 fr
-1.0 rr
zero toe

They informed me when they had it up on the rack that, although specs showed that -1.2 could be had with stock hardware, they were only able to get -1.0 with my car. They asked a bunch of questions about how I drive, what my goal was in terms of how I wanted the car to handle, and gave me a bunch of options and told me what they would recommend.

I ended up staying with stock hardware up front. I have camber bolts on the rear. This is the results:

BEFORE:

Front Left -.9 camber -.04in toe
Front Right -.2 camber -.03in toe

Rear Left -1.8 camber .01 toe
Rear Right -1.3 camber -.06 toe

AFTER:

Front Left -.9 camber zero toe
Front Right -1.0 camber -.01in toe

Rear Left -1.0 camber .01 toe
Rear Right -1.0 camber zero toe

I didn't notice it before the alignment, but the car felt like it was fighting itself as I was driving. Now it handles great and is incredibly neutral.

They took it out twice because after he set it the first time, he said that although the numbers looked right, the car was a "hair off". He tweaked it again and took it for a drive, put it back on the rack, to check the numbers, and then he said he was happy.

I had a great experience with Roger Kraus and would recommend them to anyone.

IMO worth every penny of the ~$120 I paid.

That being said, I have to give props to AI. I showed up after business hours lights were off and they sold me a set of camber bolts no hassles and made sure to warn me not to install them unless I was getting an alignment right after I put them in.

So anyone got a recommendation for a shop in the North Bay, preferably in Novato. I'm sure Auto Innovations and Roger Kraus are great but neither location is particulary convenient for me.

I value accuracy and competence rather than cost but I don't need anything exotic.

+1 for Roger Kraus. I was just in there today with my car and they are a very professional shop. My car hasn't been alligned yet due to a bad wheel bearing but from talking to them I will be in very shortly to get the car alligned once i fix the current problem.

majority of you all seem to like auto innovation for your allignment needs, so i gave them a call in regards in doing my adjustable tie rods and correcting my bumpsteer. It seems that they are NOT able to do bump steer adjustment, anyone know who may be able to?

thanks

Again, try custom alignment, or roger kraus. I use custom alignment but feel free to try either.

Keep in mind, your suspension will have to able to allow for bumpsteer correction or no one will be able to do it.

I've gotten an alignment at both AI and RKR. Plus 1 for both locatons. If you want you car corner weighted and aligned go to RKR and talk with Brandon. Dude knows his stuff to say the least.
