no i meant the heat shield around the downpipe. the heat shield around the turbo should stay on there.

i thought that sounded a bit off.

how do you remove the heat shield around the down pipe?

it comes off with the stock downpipe

uhh, you don't unless you have tin snips.

And here is the actual heat shield that bolts to both the heat shield mount and the downpipe so requires cutting to work on after maket downpipes:
