its not that loud to me on my 01 RS N/A i have 2 1\4 pipping comming from borla headers...its definently noticeable and if u dont want that loud obnoxious noise and maybe police attention grabbing quality, ull be ok im pretty happy with my setup but then again from driving around with my friend in his 95 240 with a HUGE coffee can, my car sounds like stock again lol

what exhaust does the stromung compare to? how loud is it?
Go to a regular meet like UCKK. If a member has a Strömung on their car, you can ask them if they would mind starting their car so you could have a listen. There might be some sound clips posted somewhere but I've never found these to be particularly useful. Vid camera microphones (and most computer speakers) aren't of high quality so what you hear over the internet may not bear much resemblance to the real life exhaust sounds.

thats because I don't go to UCKK. ;P

If anyone wants to hear it or go for a test ride in my car let me know, I am in San Jose near 280 & Saratoga ave.

I have an ERZ flex uppipe, Stromung divorced wastegate downpipe, stock 3rd cat, and stromung 2.5" dual tip cat-back + Ecutek by Gruppe-S.

I just got the DP in last night, and it made a huge difference in low end torque on my current tune. I am very happy with it.

Just PM me if you are interested in meeting up to go for a ride.

I think I *might* have heard the turbo hiss a little more, but no, it didn't sound different.
Thr uppipe was put on first though when everything else was stock.

Yeah, I noticed it got a bit louder without the heat shield. not too much, but noticeable. Also since I now have a divorced waste gate I think I am hearing the wastegate air through the smaller tube.

is the heatshield the metal piece wrapped around the turbo?

i'm running a stock set-up now, will it do anything performance or sound-wise to remove the heat shield?

little noise increase without heat shield since it helps keep the noise muffled a bit.

The helix downpipe should fit up to a stromung catback perfectly fine.

The thing I love most about my stromung cat-back is that the stock hangers work perfectly, no need for aftermarket hangers.

with a good EcuTek or Cobb pro tune, you should see about 200-WHP/200-WFT or more.

Before I put the new downpipe in, running ERZ uppipe, stock gutted downpipe, stock 3rd cat, 2.5" stromung cat-back I was making 197-WHP/190-WFT. I felt a big difference on the same tune after switch to the 3" stromung divorced wastegate downpipe, still with stock 3rd cat.
