I was T-boned by a drunk driver. Heading home from dinner with my parents in the car, I approach an intersection that I have a green light for. Enter the intersection at about 45 and got hit by some drunk **** who ran the red light. According to witnesses, the car came off the ground about a 6-8 inches. Then spun 3 times across the intersection landing on top of a curb in the opposite corner from where I entered the intersection. She then tried to flee the scene. Thanks to some good smaritons she didn't make it very far before the cops picked her up.

This happened in my Subaru. They repaired it. The side airbags did not deploy. I walked away with only 2 bruises. My parents were also okay, but had bruising and swelling from the seat belts. Oh and this also happened last year. 4/26/02.

Yup. $10,500 in damage. It's not 80% of the cost of the vehicle. So it got repaired. It's cool now. Car tracks straight and I haven't noticed any problems with it.

1995, I spun out in my 93 MR2-turbo on hwy 24's Cadelcott(sp?) tunnel going toward Oakland. I guess I was coming out of that tunnel too fast, hit a wet spot (rainy season), spun out and hit the guard rail at 90mph.. I was seriously injured.

1997, Got T-boned at Geary and Lincoln in SF when I was driving the 92 Galant VR-4. Altho I was not hurt, but My passengers were injured.

Both cars were total loss.

No mis matches. They matched the paint perfectly.

Mine was my motorcycle accident...lets just say if you hit a 50lb. dog on a motorcycle your a$$ is in the air. Basically when I hit my bike went rear over front and flipped throwing me off. When i landed I slid for about 50 ft and my bike landed beside me sliding about 100ft. I had two fractured vertebrae lots of bruises and a huge patch of road rash that they had to "scrub" at the ER. That's the most pain that I've ever been in, felt like someone was peeling my skin off slowly. They said they had to do it to get out all the little bits of asphalt embedded in my flesh so I wouldn't get a staff (sp.?) infection.

The cops cuffed and stuffed her. As far as I know she is still in prison. My car was basically like new when I got it back. I had to send it back like 3 times, but after that the car was cool.

From what I can tell, the side airbags never went off because the beam separating the front and back was almost untouched. It looks like she struck my door almost dead on, and then skipped over the beam and struck the rear door. And believe it or not, my driver door, still opened and closed. I love the structural integrity of this car.

Car Info: 2016 Acura RDX ... meh. Um, nice subwoofer?
Spring 2002

Just before I got my WRX I there was this perfect sunny day and a friend called me up and begged me to leave work early to go biking. I hadn't biked for a couple of years and thought maybe I wouldn't hurt myself this time. So I left work, picked him up, got my bike, he rented one and we were ridding through Golden Gate Park. We're maybe a mile into our ride, going down MLK Boulevard by Shakespeares Garden, out of nowhere a car door opens, my front wheel completes its opening and I go head first through the window. My buddy later told me it was "perfect, like out of the movies. This perfect semi-circle of glass shattered around you". I did a pretty good tuck and roll, managing to not break my neck, and only scrape a knee and elbow.

OK, so there I am fulla glass, asphalt and blood all over. The woman who was sitting in her parked Miata says

"Oh didn't you see me?"

"Didn't you see me?"

"Well I thought you saw me?!"

"Lady, you're in the car, I have the right of way. You are not supposed to open your car until I am passed, no matter what. Look, I'm in a lot of pain do you think you could take me to UCSF hospital, its only a few blocks away up the hill".

"Well, could you clean up a bit first I don't want to get my car seats all stained."

"What?"

"Well, it is a Miata!"

At which my friend and I look at eachother in disbelief and telephatically communicate "SO?!"

"Lady, I got glass from your car and asplalt in my in my skin. I don't have the proper tools to clean myself up without risking further injury and pushing all that crap further into my body. Are you going to take me or not?"

"Well I could call you an ambulance."

Me and my friend exchange another look. "Well the hospital is a few blocks away. I'd have to wait while all this blood dries and things get nice and wedged into my flesh. You're right here. If you don't take me I might as well walk."

"Let's just exchange insurance information and I'm leaving. I'm not taking you to the hospital".

And that's what she did (or, that is, didn't do).

We ended up walking to the hospital. It was actually a trip. Every other decked out cyclist was all sympathetic, I was a hero now. They'd seem me and I'd say "Car door, man". "Oh dude, cars suck dude, totally dude". And then some scraggly drug pusher kept suggesting all sortsa drugs that he could sell me to help my walk to the hospital be a much more positive experience.

It ends up I had a good handful of glass under my knee and thigh and my elbow was split open. My head (nor helmet) did not have a scratch!. I kept complaining about pain in my knee and suspected there was more glass in there but the nurses and doctors disagreed. A week later I went to my own doctor and he said nothing was in there. A week after that I cut open my knee with a disinfected Xacto knife and took the rest of the glass out

All in all, I got about $3000 for my troubles... and it all went right into my WRX which I got about 2 months later (My unrepaired bike is sitting around somewhere).
