Pretty much. I would think if they can't determine occupancy due to tint, then the person would get pulled over anyway due to tint and checked and at least be given a ticket for the tint.

I could see ways of possibly getting away with it, but the cops are sitting on the left shoulder. You literally drive right next to them and some of them are out of their cars standing with the door open ready to jump in and go after someone.

 

Sometimes it takes 2 cops... that very same day I took that dam STi wing off

Apparently there was a dude with a very similar looking STi (with goldies though, instead of the silver BBS's) that was having fun doing donuts in parking lots and then running from the cops. CHP saw my buddy leave an intersection and thought he was the same guy.

Cop tried to prove he knew what he was looking at by referring to the BOV as "adjustable ignition" and swore that the IC sprayer was NOS.

Salinas CHP. Had we left the house 30 seconds later, the officer that initially pulled him over would have be at Starbucks.

No, he got nailed for modified exhaust and no front plate. Also wasted 45 minutes of the evening. Shortly after he sold the car and got a Speed3, then sold that and got a Ducati.

The reason they gave for originally pulling him over (info about the guy doing donuts came out later) was "modified sounding exhaust" even though he had the Cobb TBE and grannied it away from the intersection where the cop was ahead of us (facing us).

 

I don't get the donuts out. Doesn't that totally destroy your tires as well as get you unwated popo attention?

There aren't cameras to my knowledge. So right now a cop has to physically catch you in the lane without a passenger.
