They've been out there in force the past 2 weeks or so. Trying to bust carpool cheaters. And almost everyday they are out there, I see people getting a ticket. Stupid people. But yea there was 5 there at 7am when I went through

And I think those carpool hybrid stickers are expiring, so I would expect to see more in areas of carpool lanes looking to bust the hybrid drivers who don't pay attention.

 

Might have something to do with the recent street races that killed people and got Mercury News coverage. It was just random but I cant see it helping out the modded car scene at all.

Well that and state needs money and who better to ticket than the people in fast cars w/ 3k+ in visible mods. Surely we can afford it :P

 

Oh about those stickers. Did you know that you can get one of those on a bifuel car which is retarded because most of the ones I know still fill up on 87gas and enjoy the free carpool.

Yeah, I was on 101S the other morning in traffic and this guy passes me in the carpool lane, brakes hard, and then ducks in ahead of me when he sees the cop on the left shoulder. That of course not only grabbed the attention of the cop, but then the guy had to crawl by the cop at 5mph, giving the cop a good look at his lack of passengers.

Yes, sometimes people do get pulled over for BS reasons, but if you're concerned about getting pulled over, not breaking the law is a good way to reduce the risk.

After looking under the hood he couldnt find anything... He was trying to pretend he knew what he was looking at... He said I was "speeding" which I wasn't... It was at the merge on business 80 and I-80 by Madison ave... Everyone speeds there... Oh and he also wrote me for my address not being updated... WTF...

nope i believe its for cars that come dual fuel from the factory. only ones ive seen are some crown vics and chevy cavaliers. im sure there are more though. they run (CNG/pump gas)

 

Last time I got pulled over he took all my info. Asked me if my address was current and I told him no. He wrote down my new one and let me off with a warning

 

I had an experience like that on 101. CHP SUV pulled me over after I accelerated to get out of the fast lane to let him by. Asked me why I did it, and I said "Honestly, I thought you were one of those SUV a**holes who wanted to drive fast; so I was trying to let you by". He asked about my exhaust, I said "It never got flagged at Laguna Seca's 93db limit". He let me go with a warning to fix my address.
