What's a Suby friendly bodyshop in the Bay Area?
Does anyone know of a bodyshop here in the Bay Area that is really good? Right now my car is at Mike's Autobody in Concord, and it's turning out to be a nightmare. Those guys are just as bad as the insurance company.
them for trying to weasel their way out of fixing everything wrong with my car from the accident, because I complained about them to the BBB. Now they're going out of their way to give me a hard time. I complained because they had my car for over a month and didn't touch it yet, also their customer service SUCKS bigtime. They just started working on it last week.
I'm planning on taking my car to a good shop to get the minor stuff fixed after I get it out of Mike's Autobody. Do any of you guys have a hookup or know someone that works/owns a bodyshop? I don't want to have to deal with a$$sholes like the guys at Mike's Autobody ever again.

Might be a BIT out of your way but what the hell...
Avenue Auto in San Carlos is GREAT. Talk to Aaron there...he's on the ball, and that's the place that Carlsen Subaru uses. They just fixed my wife's wagon after she got crunched pretty good. Dropped it off on the Friday before Thanksgiving, had it back Monday. And they did a PERFECT job, and even took out a door ding for free on a different panel!
Thumbs up to them!

Woot! Thanks Eric. I think I'll take your advice and take it to that shop you recommended. I also need Kevin to take a look at the car to make sure everything is ok and repaired properly. I got into the SAME kind of accident that you got into. I hit a curb and broke 3 of my wheels and snapped my front axle. This whole month has been quite an ordeal, I really regret taking my car to those jerks. Thanks for the help tho!

Glad I could help even a little bit...I know how much it sucks waiting for your car to be finished...I can't imagine the pain you must be in dealing with those fackers.
Good luck,
eric
ps...got any pics of your accident? Or a thread describing what happened?

I have pics of the accident, but I didn't have a digicam at the time, so they need to be scanned.
Pretty much what happened was that I was driving down some backroads and came upon a sharp 90 degree right hand turn. I braked and downshifted to slow down before the turn, then when I took it, the rear end slid out and punched the gas to straighten the car out, but there was some loose gravel so I lost traction and basically drifted right over a curb and hit the dirt.

hey, tell me where you get your car fixed... i had a run in with a racoon recently and was looking to get it fixed. i went to mike's autobody too and they told me three days to basically replace the bumper and the splash guard under the car for 800 bucks. i've had my old car fixed there a couple times, and they do good work, but sounds like their service may have gone down a bit since i was last there.

I took my car to the Mike's Autobody on Fremont Street in Concord. Their general manager Steve isn't very helpful at all either. Even if complained about their service, his attitude towards me shouldn't have been as unprofessional as it was. That's why I'm taking my car out of their shop tomorrow. They really don't deserve my business and the business of other Suby owners.
