But yeah, trike races would be awesome! any races! i have a few girly bikes that i used to lake jump at Lexington. We can race those on a downhill around cones, X Games Downhill luge style.

Events are most important and cant be purchased thru a drive thru (like food can for you 25% who voted "food" over events lol )

I complained about $10 a head for FOOD! FOOD PEOPLE!!! GEEZ!

I would gladly pay $50 for a few laps on a track or parking lot! Not expecting that at all, but just throwing that out there.

For you 25% "food more important" voters:

id rather be starving and having fun than eating and staring at cars for hours on end.

I've called and inquired about the park i've been looking at for the past 2 years.

$1326 for 2 large covered BBQ pit areas, huge grass area for tents and fun.

It's very central in the east bay. They have a limit of 200 people per bbq pit area (but i think we won't hit this mark all at once so the park shouldn't have an issue with it), parking is plentiful (although I recommend we show up MUCH earlier, like 10am latest) (park opens at 6am).

So, basically, I'm willing to fork the money on a new and grand spot (hopefully I won't loose too too much) if Jourdan is willing to organize the meet.

Quarry Lakes Regional Park in Fremont. We would have to be quiet with cars, no revving and stuff. besides it saves you from Fremont PD.

Lots of parking and space.
I wonder how many cars @$40-$50 each we would need to sign up for the SFR SCCA to come and host an autoX event??? That would be awesome to get 150 subys going at it.

Maybe Gagan can chime in and let us know if that's at all feasible?

We don't have the facilities to have a meet and an autox. All the autox sites are over $2k to rent, and tend to have NO bbq areas near by.

We don't need BBQ areas, we can get pizza , it's the racing we need.

So the site is 2K, that's 50 cars @ $40 each, now how much for the SFR SCCA team to come and host the AutoX? I'll bet we could get 100 cars to sign up.

YES its the racing we need!

And the site needs to be one that will benefit from the exposure. Oakland Coliseum could give a F about 100 subies coming by, but Altamont Speedway WOULD LOVE to get 100 subies, of which 3/4 of them have never even been there, to see what Altamont is and give them potential customers.

Doing something thru Altamont would give us a discount over just a parking lot site.

There is a gokart track out of Barstow that rents out for $500 a day! just an example of course. But we are wasting our money otherwise...$1000 for a covered overhang and BBQs? Pleeeeez i would not contribute to that

Altamont Infield Road Course would be a dream come true

But every AutoX, there are only 5-10 subies if that, so i doubt there are even 100 in the bay that are willing to pay autoX prices. Its possible, but i doubt it would happen.

You'd all need to be members for SCCA's insurance to cover you.

There are easier and less expensive ways to run an event

SCCA santion fees, insurance...

to run every person would have to be a member.

We can't loan the equipment out like you may think we can, it just isn't going to work out that easily. I'd suggest we stick to the meet, greet and eat deal.

I say to just keep it at Mt. Hammy and not include racing. Although that would be fun, many of the people come with their girlfriends and kids and stuff to just see all the other cars and hang out. I say to just focus on things to do. I went last year and liked how some of the vendors had areas where they kicked it and the food was cool but more interaction would be awesome. Music definitely needs to be going on the WHOLE time and some games would be cool. Maybe there could be a "spot the mods" contest or something?
CN: Stay at Mt. Hammy. More interactive events. Music.

Speaking of music, there's gotta be a few DJ's who post around here right?
