What's a good price for this 02 wagon?

Been thinking about getting a 02/03 wagon and came across this one:

Edit to add Yahoo Auto link. The car has been removed from Autotrader.

http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/sub...ru&distance=10

KBB dealer price for a 02 wagon with this mileage is $15k+ which I think is way overpriced. KBB for private party is $12.7 k for excellent condition and $11.9k for good condition. Edmunds dealer price is $12.4k and private party is $11k for excellent condition. My experience suggests that KBB is mostly overpriced and Edmunds is usually underpriced.

This 02 wagon is an one owner car. Carfax shows it's a local car originally sold at Diablo Subaru. Had regular services. But from 40k to 73k miles (10/04 to now), there's no record from Carfax. The car seems stock and clean. However, if I recall correctly the OEM performance meter pack should be at the bottom middle console section, not where the clock is.

I have never dealt with a small dealer like this one before so don't know how they operate. The car is being sold "as is". Do they allow potential buyers to bring the car to buyers' own mechanics for check up prior to the purchase?

Been looking for private party sales with similar miles (and in stock form) but have not seen too many for sale locally. Anyway what do you guys think is a good price for this one? Thanks.

Just remember to look for traces of mods. Also, the 02 had the clutch juddering issue and the paint coming off the radiator fill tank. I recall the OEM meters as replacing the clock.

a good price would be 9.5. but since the car is no longer listed, I can't say whether I'd pay more for it or not.

$12K is a good price. Maybe more if it's got really low miles and the paint is in great shape.

.... and the car on your link has been sold.

That's quick if it's already sold, I think the ad was placed only a day ago.

The ad is still on Yahoo Auto as of this moment:

Offer him no more than $12K. My friend just picked up an 02 PSM wagon with the same mileage for $12K from a dealer lot.

That $13,500 is for suckers. I guarantee that they are willing to haggle.

Yeah I wouldn't pay much over 11.5.

13,450 is way- no make that WAY too much for a 7 Y/O WRX with 75,000 miles on it.

I'd start with an offer of 10, maybe 10.5 but no way I'd go over 11.5

that's what I was gonna say.

Low miles though. I've got 122 on my 04.

good car for $12.5. I'd start at $11k. Don't settle for anything over $12.5 OUT THE DOOR with a WARRANTEE.
