whats with the cops in oakland?
ive been in oakland for the past few days and i noticed there are hella cops out pulling people over. i was in downtown oakland and in emeryville where i saw 4 people get pulled over and many others got pulled over the other days.
is there a reason behind this? or is the city just hungry for $$$$

Not exactly relevant, but for some reason these past two days here in SF there've been many many cop cruisers on the streets; I've seen about nearly ten in just a single day! Weirdest thing is that I had seen only about 3 or 4 in the last 2 or 3 weeks prior. Something's goin' on!

things always pick up arround the holidays. lots more people are driving arround after having a few drinks, and drunk driving arrests always go up between thanksgiving and new years. there are more cops out it every city.
that said, O-Town is a dive. if you're a cop in oakland, you can pretty much count on being shot at in your first year of employment.

yes, many parts of oakland are shat now, its just a fact....NOT ALL PARTS, but yes, many...
and dropkick is dead on about teh holidays...esp. the night before Thanksgiving, it's a "bar night"

actually i live in oakland, and if you are talkng about oakland chinatown, most ricers are there speeding as if it was a ritual everyday, so i wouldn't be surprised if cops are always prowling around that area.
