Whoa, I did not know that was Broken Arrow's shop. I have to hit him up soon, I need to get my trigger tweaked on my Glock 17C and also have the trigger guard rounded a bit. I am too afraid to do it myself, I can do the trigger tweak but been too lazy to sign up for the Armorers Course so that I can get the parts for free. Thanks for the heads up

well for DEFENSE, i'd use something with at least .308 or 30-06. but if i had to go hunt small game, i'd take my AR out. and for close range defense i'd drop my other guns for a 12gauge.

Who cares about laws that are silly and slow us CA peeps down.

Also name that shop, I thought about every shop I have been to and this one does not look familiar to me at all.

To be fair here, your kind of wrong on the shotgun. I can toss my rifled barrel on my mossburg, pop in some of the sabot slugs I have, and go 100-150 yards out no problem. Now its not nearly as accurate as my 270 or my 243, but it will drop a deer/elk/boar no problem what so ever.

the rack of a shotgun followup by a booming blast when you squeeze a round off is waaaaay more intimidating than any assault rifle's repeat. remember, in SHTF situations, psychological warfare is just as important.

if someone hears an AR/AK or your Sig firing they are going to say "hey, that guy must have something worth defending..." if they hear a 10gauge blast they are going to say "maybe we'll hit the next house instead..."

Letting someone hear your shotgun rack gives away your position...
Don't give the other guy a chance to start shooting first

The shop is called "Cordelia Gun Exchange" (civilian sales) and Metco #2 for the Class 3 stuff.

The FN Scars are for Military and L.E. sales (per owners' decision). But, you can check them out.

As far as SHTF long guns.... use the proper tool for the job. A 12 gauge has it's place as well as a center fire rifle. Even a .22 LR rifle is better than nothing.

...in fact, they have done many psychological studies on things like this. The sound of a shotgun rack, has a very primal fear attached to it in our brains. It can, 9 times out of 10 end a situation. Its rather interesting when you get into reading some of the articles on it, LEO's have had people set their weapons down and give up just from hearing the sound.

QFT.

Not to mention, operating a shotgun efficiently under stress is A LOT more difficult than a carbine. Reloading a shotgun is a perfect example of this. Try topping off that 870 in the dark, trying to feed shells into the tube. Maybe dropping one or two in the process. While you're fumbling with your shotgun, the bad guys in your house are maneuvering on you...
