Starting Jan 1st, ALL .50 Cal rifles will be banned in CA. They are now considered assault rifles. Which is funny, because there hasn't been a SINGLE murder using a .50 Cal rifle. Anyway, if you want one, do it soon before you'll never be able to buy one again (unless you leave CA).

(PS: One shot from a .50 cal rifle will take down a helicopter!! )

(If any of you know how big ammo cans are, you can see how big these friggin bullets are!!)

Oh man, what I would give for one of those. If I won the lotto, I'd straight up dish out the $7,500 for that bad boy. Imagine pig hunting with that thing. It would would instantly turn that pig to diced bacon. Maybe the fact that it can take down a helicopter IS the reason they are outlawing them. To be honest, this is one weapon I can understand them outlawing. Imagine if those things were to fall in to the wrong hands, i.e. terrorists, both domestic and otherwise. I'm all about owning guns just for the pure ***** and giggles of it, but you have to draw the line somewhere, and maybe that is it.

But they have ALWAYS been legal... and are legal EVERYWHERE but CA now. There have been no incidents with .50cal.

Its more effective to walk into a store and kill a bunch of people with a glock that holds 19 rounds... than to shoot someone with a .50cal rifle. lol. (They have much cheaper varients... like for $2k)

That is VERY true. It's not as if a dude walking around with one of those is going to be very hard to notice, I don't care how baggy their jacket is. Dan, if you or one of your buddies ever gets their hands on something like that, and you guys go shooting, please please please invite me.

hahah, okay. BYOA!!! (bring your own ammo... cuz each bullet is about $1.50!!!)

I think Im gonna buy two. (Lower recievers... then put them together later... cuz I cant afford a whole gun right now)... (The lower reciever is considered the gun itself... so you can buy it, and buy the upper, etc later. )

But if you shoot someone with a handgun there is a lot of evidence. When you hit someone with a .50 cal, there tends to be nothing left if you know what I mean.

[QUOTE=brucelee]

what a beautiful picture!!!

oh and one shot from a .50 BMG may take out a civillian helicopter, but not much militarily...

I think the govt. is paranoid about terrorists potentially using a 50 cal against fuel and chemical tanks.

Like any terrorist is going to buy a friggin' gun in CALI of all places...

most stupid ranges won't even let you shoot .50BMG anymore...so ghey

I would love to own a Barrett, maybe in another state, some day...

check this funnay out:

hahaha, Dre I never thought I'd see you giving props to that...c'mon man, you don't think someone in California would be tempted to take down a ghetto bird if they had one of those?!? Even if they haven't ever done it...Northridge happened right? No one did that before they did either...
