this is how i learned 2 launch, i reved it up and kept it between 3500 and 4000 rpm and slipped the clutch kinda quick . lucky for me everything worked out perfect and it was a good launch i did it again a few more times to get the feel. after a while when i had the hang of it, i reved it a lil higher. like i said before i moved up 4500-5000 rpm. now i have a perfect launch with with front wheel spin and the once in a while chirp into second. my car is a stock 04 wrx except for blitz BOV and unbolted muffler (just for now)

Each car and driver are a bit different so, again.... just practice.

I cant launch at 4000RPM's...I have to go at around 6000RPM's, Spinning all 4 while going across the intersection, still leaving fools behinde.

Opps...I mean...if I were to do that on the streets...thats what would happen

d00d Freddie! You n MessicanPissa are the jerks! Why are you holding the BAIC SECRET LAUNCH TECHNIQUE back from 'teh n3wbs'?

Just cuz they are newbies, it doesn't mean they aren't part of the BAIC!

Guys, check it out. Go with the technique that DreDizzle or I was talking about. Dre has more NAWS in car so he can do the 9100 drop, but I have to use the super secret technique since my car is slower. This will win you races from every stoplight you can imagine. Maybe even a few stop signs! Or even... CROSSWALKS!

K, now... let's sit back and wait for the blown tranny and bent valve stories to come in.

Do it at about 4800 - 5000 RPM and as the needle keeps going up all the way to redline. Keep your left foot on the clutch to allow it to continue slipping. You'll burn though it much quicker but you'll beat many people that may even have a faster car.

How do you slip in the clutch a 5000? Do you rev it up and hold it at 5000 and slowly release the clutch?

rev it up, slip the clutch a little until you feel it grab and let it out all the way. i agree with the reverse comment. it's weird, but something about it helps improve my quarter mile time. i usually do some practice launches in reverse...nothing like smokin' that honda in reverse off the line!

Hold the clutch halfway until you see smoke, then let go!

...and remember, you should hear the tires chirp if you do it correctly. breaking the tires loose is a good indicator that you've revved it high enough before letting the clutch out!
